The Special Needs Ministry supports individuals of all ages in both typical age-graded programming, as well as in our sensory room class and adult...
When you arrive at New Vision, go to the Hub to register your child if they have not previously attended any programming. To simplify the check-in process, you can pre-register your child using the link below. If your child is already in the system, you will use your phone number to check them in at a kiosk. From there, a First Impressions volunteer can contact a member of our team, and we will show you the way to your child’s age-graded ministry classroom or the sensory room and connect them with a one-on-one volunteer as needed.
For the best experience, please connect with Lindsay Follette prior to attending for the first time. We want to serve your family in the best way possible, so we suggest establishing a consistent schedule of attendance and communicating with our team to ensure proper staffing.
We offer special needs ministry programming for preschool, children, and student ages during the 8:20, 9:40, and 11:00 AM services. We offer both one-on-one volunteers who attend the child’s age-appropriate ministry with them, as well as sensory room programming for 1st-12th graders that benefit from adapted lessons in a smaller, more sensory-friendly environment.
We have an adult small group for adults of all ages and abilities that meets during the 11:00 AM service. Volunteer leaders facilitate discussion using Lifeway’s Access curriculum.
We offer special needs ministry programming for preschool and children at 6:00 PM on Wednesday nights while caregivers attend small groups. We offer both one-on-one volunteers who attend the child’s age-appropriate ministry with them, as well as sensory room programming for children that benefit from adapted lessons in a smaller, more sensory-friendly environment.
We also offer special needs ministry programming during both the middle school (6:00-7:15 PM) and high school (7:15-8:30 PM) student services on Wednesday nights.
We offer special needs ministry programming for preschool, children, and student ages during the 6:00 PM Thursday service. We offer both one-on-one volunteers who attend the child’s age-appropriate ministry with them, as well as sensory room programming for children that benefit from adapted lessons in a smaller, more sensory-friendly environment.
We also offer special needs ministry programming during the combined middle and high school student service at 6:00 PM on Thursday nights.

The special needs ministry hosts Respite Nights quarterly, which are a night of fun for children with disabilities (0-18 years old) and their siblings at the church and serve as an opportunity for caregivers to have a much-needed break.
We also host quarterly Adult Connection Events, such as movie nights, game nights, and pool parties for our adult small group as an opportunity for fellowship and outreach.
We offer a 2-day, overnight special needs student camp for middle and high school students as an alternative to our traditional student ministry student camp. Our special needs student camp takes place at Deer Run Camps & Retreats with a day camper option available as well.

The Special Needs Ministry supports other New Vision events, including VBS, student camps and special events like Friendsgiving, and church-wide events such as Fall Fest.
