THEME

God is not only the Creator of all things, but He also cares about His creation, right down to the tiniest detail. And the Bible tells us that people are the most significant part of that creation. God created you and knows every detail about you – right down to the design of your fingerprints and the number of hairs on your head.

Magnified! VBS will encourage kids to look closely at the details of God’s amazing world and proclaim the greatness of God. God made us, cares about us, loves us, forgives us, and is faithful to keep all His promises to us. We were made to magnify God!

SCRIPTURE

“Proclaim the LORD’s greatness with me; let us exalt His name together.” - Psalm 34:3

4. Tell me about the 5th Grade Exclusive VBS Experience:

To help with their transition into student ministry, 5th grade students will have a unique VBS experience. 5th grade VBS will still have the same fun, Jesus-centered worship and teaching of the New Vision VBS that you are probably familiar with. Now it will be combined with the Student Leaders that they will come to know in August, super-relevant discussion groups and exciting off-campus experiences. Two of the days, we will travel off campus in Murfreesboro for a time of fun, fellowship, and connecting with leaders. We believe it is going to be enjoyable and purposeful event for your children (and hopefully, their friends)!

When checking in a 5th grader, you will receive 3 tags:  your child’s name tag, a 2nd name tag to give to your child’s leader, and a parent pick-up tag with matching security numbers. YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW THIS TAG TO PICK-UP YOUR CHILD! Take a picture of your parent pick-up tag with your phone as a backup in case it gets lost.

5. What is the theme this year?

MAGNIFIED!
DISCOVERING THE BIGNESS OF GOD IN THE SMALLEST OF THINGS

God is not only the Creator of all things, but He also cares about His creation, right down to the tiniest detail. And the Bible tells us that people are the most significant part of that creation. God created you and knows every detail about you – right down to the design of your fingerprints and the number of hairs on your head. Magnified! VBS will encourage kids to look closely at the details of God’s amazing world and magnify, or proclaim, the greatness of God. God made us, cares about us, loves us, forgives us, and is faithful to keep all His promises to us. We were made to magnify God!

Yes! Everyone is encouraged to dress up and have some fun!

  • Tuesday – VBS T-Shirt Tuesday
  • Wednesday – Wacky Wednesday
  • Thursday – Theme Day Thursday
7. How do I register my kids or volunteer to serve?

There are two ways to do this:

  1. Go to New Vision’s website (newvisionlife.com) and click on the Events tab. The deadline to pre-register is Wednesday, May 28th.
  2. After May 28th, children can be registered in person on Sunday, June 1st at our VBS Family Kickoff Event at 3:00pm or on Monday, June 2nd beginning at 8:00 AM.
8. We pre-registered. What else do we need to do?

If you pre-registered, you’re all set. Our Worship Rally begins at 9:00 AM, but check-in begins at 8:00 AM and the doors to drop off open at 8:40 AM. When you get here, simply…

  • Come on inside, walk up to a kiosk, type in your phone number, select your family, click the Blue box, click “Print Labels”, and your tags will then print. You will receive 2 tags: your child’s nametag and a matching parent pickup tag with matching security numbers. YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW THIS TAG TO PICK UP YOUR CHILD! (You will repeat this check-in process and receive new tags each day.) Take a picture of your security tag with your phone as a backup if it gets lost. When checking in a 5th grader, you will receive 3 tags:  your child's name tag, a 2nd name tag to give to your child's leader, and a parent pick-up tag with matching security numbers.
  • At 8:40 AM, enter the Worship Center, find your child’s group and drop them off with their Tour Guides.
  • Be sure to hang on to the security pick-up tag that was printed at the kiosk, you’ll need to show it to pick your child up during dismissal. If someone different will be picking up your child you will need to give them the security pick-up tag, or you can take a picture of it with your phone and send it to that person. We will look at their phone to confirm that their numbers match your child’s.

NOTE:
You will receive your child’s group assignment when you check-in at the kiosk Monday morning June 2nd. If for some reason we cannot pair your child up with their friend request, you will be contacted via email before VBS.

9. We didn’t pre-register. Is it too late?

No, it’s definitely not too late! You can register in person the evening of Sunday, June 1st at our VBS Family Kickoff Event or upon your arrival any other morning of VBS. Just park and come to the registration tables in the Hub area near the kiosks. Once you’ve got your child registered, doors will open at 8:40am and at that time you can bring them to the Worship Center and drop them off with their assigned group.

10. How can I buy a VBS T-shirt and CD?

VBS t-shirts and CDs will be on sale in the Worship Center Atrium on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings through the month of May and then during the week of VBS, while supplies last.

11. What if my child needs a different snack during the day because of allergies or other reasons?

Parents can prepare a simple (peanut free) snack that their child can safely enjoy during their scheduled snack period. Parents will need to package their alternative snack with the child’s full name and group number clearly labeled on the outside of the container. Parents will need to give the labeled snack to their child’s Tour Guide when they drop them off each morning.

12. How does dismissal work? When and where will I pick up my child?

Dismissal begins at 12:00 PM. Children will remain with their Tour Guides in the same designated group they were dropped off at inside the Worship Center. Park your car and bring your security pick-up tag inside to the Worship Center. (Guardians MUST present their security pick-up tag before their child will be released.)

13. What do I do if I lost my security pick-up tag?

If you forget your security pick-up tag, go to Registration Desk located inside in the blue corner near the kiosks. Please be prepared to show your driver’s license or another form of ID.

14. What do I do if I need to pick up my child early from VBS?

If you need to pick up your child early, you will need to arrive at the Registration Desk BEFORE 11:30 AM. After you show your security pick-up tag at the registration desk, someone will get your child and bring him/her to you. If you arrive after 11:30 AM, you will need to wait outside until 12 PM when the children are dismissed, then you may enter the Worship Center to pick up your child.

NOTE:  For the safety and security of all children, no adults will be allowed into the building between 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM.

15. Will an offering be taken up during VBS week?

Yes! Every year we give kids an opportunity to be a part of what God is doing near and far through our Kids serving Kids Mission’s Offering. At New Vision, we believe that kids serving kids is the perfect way for us to be the body of Christ. We want our children to live out their faith in a practical way. You can serve too by donating this week and continuing to partner with us as we guide children to lives of Gospel Transformation.

16. Tell me about the Family Kickoff Event:

VBS Kickoff; Sunday, June 1st! You don’t want to miss our exciting VBS Kickoff! We will begin in the Worship Center at 3:00 PM with our VBS Kickoff service! This is a time where the whole family will get a taste of the adventure we will take together during the week. Then we will exit to the parking lot & town square for more fun! There will be bounce houses, popcorn, balloons, and games for families to enjoy. We will also offer t-shirt and CD sales along with VBS registration for those who have not done so prior to the cutoff dates…meaning no long lines for you on Monday morning!
