Passage: Matthew 7:1-12
Try as we might, things rarely go according to plan and we become filled with worry and fear. We fear a dreaded diagnosis, a loss of job, whether our children will be healthy and do well in school, etc. Worry keeps us up at night. It can send us to the doctor for a host of medical problems that all lead back to worry. On and on it goes. If we're not careful, worry can paralyze us into inactivity. Worry is a killer, but there is a cure. We don’t have to live our lives enslaved by worry and fear!
In light of our seemingly constant struggle it is fascinating that the most common words uttered from our Savior's mouth were: ”do not be afraid." When we grow in our understanding of the nature of God our faith grows, our worry decreases, and we are transformed by the truth.
