Passage: Daniel 6:1-28
A new king from Persia now sat on Babylon’s throne. King Darius recognized Daniel’s talents and promoted him to one of the top positions in the kingdom. Others were jealous of Daniel and tricked the king to throw him to the lions. Daniel stood strong despite the jealousy of his peers, the arrogance of the king, and a den filled with hungry lions. Daniel’s experience reminds us that when we are faced with trials, we must stand strong on the basis of God’s character and not on the basis of our circumstances. Today’s trials are preparation for tomorrow’s battles.
